The DeWitt and Spreetail partnership began in 2018 when DeWitt identified the need to improve cost management, especially regarding Amazon 1P and Prime eligibility.
Traditionally a brick-and-mortar focused business, DeWitt faced significant challenges when transitioning to ecommerce. They struggled to maintain a dedicated ecommerce team capable of creating content, optimizing listings, and managing their Amazon 1P relationship effectively.
DeWitt's ecommerce team was small and inexperienced in taking the longtime success of the brand and translating it over to the digital shopping world. They needed expert help creating content, managing listings effectively, and improving operational logistics to reach their full selling potential. Spreetail proposed a full service takeover.
Once results were proven and trust was built, DeWitt granted Spreetail ecommerce exclusivity for their entire assortment, which allowed us to run our full-service playbook and quickly accelerate results.
DeWitt was founded in the 1970s by Larry DeWitt, who pioneered landscaping fabric. As a landscape contractor and garden center owner, he saw that plastic mulch suffocated soil and hindered plant health. Larry created a product that stopped weeds while allowing air, water, and nutrients to pass through, leading to healthier landscapes. This innovation began DeWitt's line of landscaping and plant products.
Over the past five years, DeWitt has grown its ecommerce presence from an afterthought on Amazon to a major driving force for revenue. By building A+ content, optimizing listings, and improving fulfillment costs, Spreetail was able to more than double the inventory sold on ecommerce channels.
Partnering with Spreetail enabled the DeWitt team to completely offload marketplace management across 12+ channels while maintaining healthy retail prices through a single authorized seller.
