Work Your Way: Increasing Flexibility & Productivity

January 6, 2025

Spreetail has officially launched our ‘Work Your Way’ policy, marking a shift in how we empower our teams to work with greater flexibility and autonomy. Since the early days of the 2020 pandemic, Spreetail has embraced remote work to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees. Over time, this approach has evolved to meet the demands of our growing team. Now, we’re taking the next step toward a more adaptable and inclusive work model.

Starting December 15, 2024, eligible employees can decide where and how they work best—whether that’s from home, the office, or a hybrid approach. By giving our teams the freedom to tailor their work styles, we’re enabling them to deliver their best work, fostering individual success and driving greater value for our brand partners.

The Meaning Behind ‘Work Your Way’

At its core, ‘Work Your Way’ is about trusting our employees to design a work environment that suits their unique needs. We understand that each of our employees has a unique working style and want to honor that personal preference by allowing each person the opportunity to decide where they work best and most productively.

Intentional in-person collaboration is essential to our culture. That’s why all corporate employees will join quarterly Connect Weeks at our Lincoln headquarters. These events focus on team building, community engagement, and company-wide alignment, fostering a strong balance between flexibility and meaningful connection.

Work Your Way Policies
  • Quarterly Collaboration: Corporate employees will join mandatory in-person Connect Weeks every quarter (Q2–Q4) in Lincoln, NE, with travel provided by Spreetail.
  • Excluded Roles: Certain roles, such as Facilities and IT, will maintain a two-day in-office requirement on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • International Work: U.S.-based employees can work abroad for up to 20 days within a rolling 12 months.
  • Additional Meetings: Managers can schedule in-person sessions outside quarterly events if needed, utilizing division travel budgets for intentional collaboration.
Working Remote Best Practices

Working remotely can be both rewarding and challenging. To support our teams in thriving during this transition, Spreetail provides resources and strategies for maintaining productivity and balance:

  • Create a Dedicated Workspace: Set up a specific area for work that is separate from personal spaces. Choose a quiet, distraction-free environment to help you stay focused and productive.
  • Establish a Consistent Routine: Collaborate with your manager to set clear working hours and stick to a regular schedule. Start your day with a ritual like a walk, coffee, or desk organization to signal the beginning of work, and end it by planning for the next day to maintain work-life balance.
  • Foster Clear Communication: Stay connected with your team through regular check-ins via chats, calls, or emails. Ensure you’re accessible and proactively share updates to avoid miscommunication in a virtual setting.
  • Master Time Management: Use tools like to-do lists or task management apps to prioritize tasks and align them with team goals. Incorporate techniques like Pomodoro to stay focused, take regular breaks to recharge, and keep your workspace and shared files organized for maximum efficiency.
  • Prioritize Well-being: Integrate movement into your daily routine with stretches or short walks. Monitor your stress levels and set clear boundaries to "turn off" work at the end of the day. Seek support when needed to maintain mental health.
  • Embrace Feedback: Schedule regular 1:1s with your manager to discuss performance, address challenges, and request feedback. Stay open to suggestions and be ready to adapt your work habits as needed to succeed in a dynamic remote environment.

‘Work Your Way’ reflects our belief that flexibility fuels innovation and performance. By prioritizing employee autonomy and fostering a culture of trust, we’re not only meeting the evolving needs of our workforce but also setting the stage for a more dynamic and inclusive future.

We’re excited to see how this new model will empower our teams to thrive, on their term, and drive Spreetail’s mission of delivering exceptional value for our brand partners.
